Aging Well Conference Celebrates Diversity and Resilience

The Aging Well Conference was created for diverse older adults ages 50-90+, family members, and people who serve them. The event offers 21 interactive workshops and attendees have opportunities to connect with local organizations at the resource fair. Upon arrival, volunteers will help guests choose workshops and find helpful resources to match their needs. There will be more than 30 vendors at the resource fair, plus music, and dance.

This is a free event held Saturday, Oct. 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Reynolds High School, 1698 SW Cherry Park Rd., Troutdale. Lunch is included. Free childcare is also available for children ages 3-11.

Registration is helpful so organizers can understand your meal, childcare, or other preferences. Walk-ins are also welcome. Register for free here.

Keynote speaker Fernando M. Torres-Gil, Director of the UCLA Center for Policy Research on Aging is also a member of the AARP Board of Directors.Keynote: Fernando M. Torres-Gil, M.S.W., Ph.D. was the first Assistant Secretary for Aging for the Administration on Aging within DHHS. He was a three time presidential appointee under Carter, Clinton, and Obama. Currently, Torres-Gil sits on the National Council on Disability. He is the Director of the UCLA Center for Policy Research on Aging and is a member of the AARP Board of Directors.
